The Meaning

Ek Onkar means “There is only one God” or “We are all one in God”. ” We are one”. It is written as well in the form of Ek Ong Kaar, however, the meaning remains the same.

Ek Onkar are the first words of Mul mantra, the base mantra, given to all of us by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, that was selected by Yogi Bhajan to be the most important mantra of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan (TM). Among other matras, it is always chanted in the Aquarian morning Sadhana. The Mul Manta is the first hymn in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of the Sikhs.
